The two rings segment brought up an uncomfortable topic for our police departments in America. The strength of our country has been having honest police. Our society in America will not tolerate police who take a bribe and will quickly turn in one of their own at the first hint of a dishonest cop.
The radio show revealed the “payoffs” to the police departments around the country from the maker of OxyContin, Purdue Pharma. It appears innocuous that Purdue has given money in the form of grants to many police departments around the country and regularly contributes to the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI). Purdue recently indirectly gave money to the Attorney General of Kentucky who is currently pursuing legal action against Purdue.
As our police are risking their lives every day trying to stop the distribution of drugs, their superiors are allowing Purdue to give misrepresentative information as to the reason for the growing drug epidemic. The fact is that the legal narcotics are “dangerous when taken as prescribed”, people become addicted and the police subsequently risk their lives in trying to curtail the distribution from the company that is helping create the problem.
The police departments taking money from the legal narcotic producers in this country is the equivalent of the DEA taking money from the Mexican Drug Lords. Comments from our honest cops welcome.
