From the 1/25 Show – An Introduction to bNet.com – “The chutzpah of Two Executives”

Jim Edwards, the award winning journalist used that phrase in a recent piece he wrote for bnet. http://www.bnet.com The article http://industry.bnet.com/pharma/10005876/despite-guilty-plea-oxycontin-ceo-claims-it-was-all-someone-elses-fault/?tag=content;col1 highlighted the actions taken by Michael Friedman, former CEO of Purdue and Howard Udell, former chief legal counsel for Purdue Pharma since the Health and Human Services Department barred them from doing business with the government for the next 12 years. This essentially prevents both of the convicted miscreants from working with another pharmaceutical company. Both men have sued to overturn the Health and Human Services department’s decision.

I urge all to listen to this week’s show to hear the fact finding articles Jim Edwards shared on the radio show. The Purdue marketing team systematically lied about the addiction and dangers of OxyContin for three years and the former executives are going to the courts to “argue in their complaint that not only have they done nothing wrong, but that it was all everybody else’s fault”.

The national news that Purdue Pharma is a part of and continually and masterfully attempts to deflect all criticism and misdeeds continues to amaze the radio show. The radio show is appreciative that Jim Edwards spent time with us on air. More importantly, I hope Jim’s appearance is an indication that the media around the country are beginning to understand the silent epidemic that is affecting tens of thousands of people in our country and every community.
