From the 3/22 Show – A Message For Rhode Island

Brian and Stewie from Family Guy helped with Sunday night’s message. Their rendition of “Off On The Road to Rhode Island” helped introduce the lunacy that is being proposed by lawmakers in Rhode Island. Rhode Island legalized “medical marijuana” in 2006, but did not create a mechanism for “patients” to obtain the drug. Rhode Island presently has 600 people who “qualify” for its “medical use” and can only utilize the weed if they grow it themselves.
The show reminded all how far behind Rhode Island is to Oregon who has signed up almost 21,000 eligible patients. In Oregon, over 18,000 qualify for “severe pain” needs and the state is a perfect example of the folly of the medical marijuana argument. Rhode Island is apparently trying to follow the stupidity of Oregon. One of the Rhode Island legislators referred to marijuana as “medicine”, but failed to mention the possible “side effects” of paranoia and the percentage of people who start their journey of addiction with marijuana.
