I am outraged that statistically the most deadly active ingredient in FDA history that is freely dispensed by drug dealers in white coats took the life of a ten year old last week. OxyContin was referred to in the article. http://www.triplicate.com/20090804106607/News/Local-News/Girl-10-dies-of-overdose
The mainstream press and authorities focused on the irresponsible grandmother who was “soma’d out again”. The little girl apparently went to grandma’s house who lived close by to pick up something for dinner and a number of pills were available on the coffee table.
Here is a story in which the poison is clear. The drugs should have never been on the street, and the authorities spoke as if the narcotics that killed the girl were necessary to help Grandma remain addicted and in a stupor that prevented her from protecting her grandchild. Under the guise of “prescription drugs” the narcotics killed a little girl. The complicity of the doctor who prescribed the drugs or the pharmacist who handed out the drugs will never be questioned by our public officials or lame media that continues to ignore the deaths and destruction from the legal drug cartels in our country.
The story also had a sheriff’s detective being quoted: “This little girl was a troubled little girl”. The question must be asked if this little girl deserved to die for being “troubled” and we have a law enforcement officer accepting the contention that the mass distribution of narcotics by our drug and medical industries is simply a minor casualty that can easily be explained as “a troubled little girl”.
