Breaking the Silence

From the 7/19 Show - Again Taking Issue with Partnership for a Drug Free America

July 21, 2009 23:18 by larry
The two rings segment featured a CBS news piece http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/07/15/national/main5161388.shtml?tag=cbsnewsMainColumnArea   this week that revealed that Partnership hasn’t created an anti-marijuana ad since 2005.  The inference is that since prescription drug abuse is up less attention should be directed to marijuana.    According to The National Institute of Drug Abuse       http://www.nida.nih.gov/infofacts/marijuana.html in 2008 over 42% of our seniors in high school had reported marijuana use in their lifetime.  That is reported as being insignificant to the phoniest organization in America.  Partnership continues to rely on drug companies to fund their endeavors and with the legalization of marijuana becoming a reality in many states it is a fair question if Partnership is once again pacifying the drug companies by remaining silent?   Is marijuana the next unconquered frontier for the drug companies and is Partnership ready to support marijuana as much as the legal drugs.  Partnership has never written or produced a piece naming OxyContin by name, or let the public know it is a medical hoax that has become the replacement for heroin on our streets.  OxyContin and oxycodone is a part of addicting and killing thousands.  The Partnership has taken money from Purdue and remains silent.    Partnership remains a marketing arm for the drug companies and they will never tell an adult about the dangers of the opioids.   Marijuana is another market ready to be fostered and cultivated in our country compliments of The Partnership for a Drug Free America and the contributors who control Partnership that allow the silence to continue.
